How do I use it for an overnight shift?

Turn on the overnight option when work ends on the next day. The calculator then adds the extra 24 hours and returns the correct duration automatically.

What is decimal hours and why use it?

Decimal hours express time as a fraction of an hour, like 8.5 instead of 8 hours 30 minutes. Payroll systems and timesheets commonly expect this format.

Are breaks subtracted automatically?

No — the tool reports the time between the two clock times. To account for an unpaid break, simply adjust your end time by the break length.

Can it handle 24-hour format?

Yes. The time pickers support a 24-hour day, so start and end can be anywhere between 00:00 and 23:59.
