What is an anagram?

An anagram is a rearrangement of letters that forms another word or phrase. This tool lists every unique arrangement of the letters you enter, whether or not it is a real word.

Is a dictionary included?

No. The solver generates all letter combinations and lets you scan them yourself. That keeps it fast, offline and unlimited.

How many letters can I enter?

Up to nine letters. Beyond that the number of permutations grows explosively, so the tool caps the input at nine to stay responsive.

Are repeated letters handled?

Yes. Duplicate letters produce only unique results, so a word like 'toot' does not generate identical anagrams over and over.

What are the results sorted by?

Alphabetically. When the result set is very large, the first 2,000 are shown and a marker tells you more exist.
